I am not an expert but I think CRISP-DM is a bit like scrum - it stipulates ceremony and structure (mainly functional separation of 'phases' ) but doesn't (to my knowledge) address the essence, i.e.:

1. Rationale and principles for making decisions in the face of unknowns.

2. A way to measure progress and value when a lot of the work doesn't end up in production
